The Dark Side...

Good Morning Everyone,

I've been teaching from 2 Peter here at the Church for awhile and I am moved by 2 Peter 2:1-9. Where Peter encouraged believers to build up their faith in chapter 1, he now warns of the flip side of Christianity. What struck me in these passages is Peters love and care as a true shepherd, watching out for the well being of the sheep. He draws a bullseye on the state of deception, not only in the early church, but in our churches today.

2Pe 2:1  But there arose false prophets also among the people, as among you also there shall be false teachers, who shall privily bring in destructive heresies, denying even the Master that bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction.

Happy New Year...

This is my notes for our New Years Eve service. Let the Lord speak to you and fill in between the thoughts.

(Psa 16:11 NKJV)  You will show me the path of life; In Your presenceisfullness of joy; At Your right handarepleasures forevermore.

Are we walking the path of life? Or are we allowing life to lead us down a path of labor, heartache and sorrow.

Samson: (My pet squirrel)Eats, sleeps and plays in his cage. Totally dependent on his master.

(1Co 6:19 NKJV)  Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit

My How Time Slips Away...

I know I know, it's been awhile since I've written anything. Really don't have any good excuses, so let's just leave it at that.

Well we've wrapped up another year and now we stare down the barrel of a brand new one. Can't really say I'm gonna miss 2013, considering it has been one of the most challenging years of my life. Even with the difficulties and disappointments, I have to say that I've have truly been blessed.

Hungry & Thirsty

Hi everyone,
Been awhile since I've made any post here, really sorry about that just been extremely busy lately. Which brings me to my subject. I love to eat; in fact it is one of my favorite things to do. Not gorging myself for the sake of eating, but enjoying good food with family and friends, oh yeah! I've been blessed to be born and raised in South Louisiana, where great food is in abundance. My Northern friends know what I'm talking about. Anyway. I was thinking about how at times I long for and crave for certain foods.

Great Day

Yesterday we celebrated the paying off of our church building! What a great day, we had a wonderful turn out of church family and the community. Had more than enough food and activities, so that we were all worn out by the end of the day.
Can't say thanks enough to the volunteers that made it happen. Thanks guys!
Talked about the endurance and refusal of Caleb to forget the promises of God concerning the promise land.
45 years after the promise he still had a passion to receive what God said was his.

It's Crawfish Time...

Ecc 3:1  To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven: Ecc 3:2  A time to be born, And a time to die; A time to plant, And a time to pluck what is planted; Ecc 3:3  A time to kill, And a time to heal; A time to break down, And a time to build up; Ecc 3:4  A time to weep, And a time to laugh; A time to mourn, And a time to dance; Ecc 3:5  A time to cast away stones, And a time to gather stones; A time to embrace, And a time to refrain from embracing; Ecc 3:6  A time to gain, And a time to lose; A time to keep, And a time to throw away; Ecc 3:7  A time to tear, And a time to sew; A time to keep silence, And a time to speak; Ecc 3:8  A time to love, And a time to hate; A time of war, And a time of peace.

The Bible

Well I watched the first episode of "The Bible". I think I'll stick with the Book. It amazes me how for the sake of sparing feelings or maybe fear of legal confrontations, producers will water down the Bible. It's ok to produce films that are filled with profanity, perversion and violence of the worse kind, but fear telling the truth. Be careful of what you see and believe. It might not be so...Just saying

Just Saying...Welcome

Well, I've never considered myself a blogger or a twitterer or any of a number of avenues out there to convey my thoughts. But I hope I can bless someone along the way with insights, words of wisdom, but mainly little nuggets that God gives us all if we listen to His voice. Like just the other day a thought came to mind.

A person with toilet paper stuck to their shoe is like someone with an attitude problem. Everyone is staring at them and they are always the last to know why. Just saying... Be Blessed
