This is my notes for our New Years Eve service. Let the Lord speak to you and fill in between the thoughts.
(Psa 16:11 NKJV) You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
Are we walking the path of life? Or are we allowing life to lead us down a path of labor, heartache and sorrow.
Samson: (My pet squirrel) Eats, sleeps and plays in his cage. Totally dependent on his master.
(1Co 6:19 NKJV) Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?
What if we quit living exclusively for ourselves, but rather began to look to others.
(Eph 2:10 NKJV) For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
Fireworks: Created for one purpose, to assist other in celebrating. Bringing a smile to their faces as they look up into the heavens. All of this while completely giving everything in a bang!
One purpose, one goal, commited to live life for others.
“Do more than belong: participate. Do more than care: help. Do more than believe: practice. Do more than be fair: be kind. Do more than forgive: forget. Do more than dream: work.”
― William Arthur Ward
I pray that for you and myself, we would take this year and live it to the fullest. And when we've accomplished God's purpose we'll go out with a BANG!
