Ecc 3:1 To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven: Ecc 3:2 A time to be born, And a time to die; A time to plant, And a time to pluck what is planted; Ecc 3:3 A time to kill, And a time to heal; A time to break down, And a time to build up; Ecc 3:4 A time to weep, And a time to laugh; A time to mourn, And a time to dance; Ecc 3:5 A time to cast away stones, And a time to gather stones; A time to embrace, And a time to refrain from embracing; Ecc 3:6 A time to gain, And a time to lose; A time to keep, And a time to throw away; Ecc 3:7 A time to tear, And a time to sew; A time to keep silence, And a time to speak; Ecc 3:8 A time to love, And a time to hate; A time of war, And a time of peace.
This morning I am thinking about seasons. Here in South Louisiana nature is in full bloom, crawfish are fat and tasty and school will soon be out. With that comes the sweltering heat, gotta love it. For the most part I welcome season change, it doesn't take me long to begin to long for cooler, warmer, dryer, wetter...you get the idea. What I saw this morning was that I have nothing to do with when or how the seasons change. I know that when it's time, it's time. No sweat or worries it just happens because that the plan and purpose of God.
God brings us through personal change in our lives, it just happens. New friendships, marriage, jobs, sickness and even death are all changes we face. Sometimes I find the season I'm in very uncomfortable; wasn't what I asked for our even expected, but nevertheless her I am.
Rom 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. Rom 8:29 For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.
When I rest in the fact that not only does Father God calls me for His purpose, He changes my seasons to accomplish His purpose. See I figured out a long time ago that my Heavenly Father knows me better than I know myself and know exactly what needs to change in my life for my good. Whew! that takes a load off, just trust God and whatever season you find yourself in rejoice.
